Dirk Dieterich is a 1978 finance graduate of the Texas Tech Rawls College of Business. He began his career as a petroleum landman with Hunt Energy Corp. in Bismarck, North Dakota. In 1979, he was transferred to Midland, Texas, and worked his way up the corporate ladder to District Land Manager over West Texas and New Mexico before leaving the corporate life in 1981. That same year Dieterich founded an oil & gas exploration company which is still in existence today. Since that date he has been involved in the founding or acquisition of seventeen additional companies. Currently, he is an owner and officer of seven companies in such diverse industries as oil & gas exploration, natural gas measurement, environmental consulting, green technology, and low income housing.
